# Are the Accounts Real or Simulated?

Like our 1 Step program, the 2 Step Funded accounts initially operate in a
simulated environment. While you’re still eligible for real profit payouts, the
trades themselves don’t directly impact live capital until you’ve proven
consistent profitability. Once you advance through the required milestones, your
trades may be connected to live liquidity or copied to our real-capital
accounts.
